Project content

This project aims to further our understanding of how immediate vaccination risk judgments are formed based on narrative and statistical information reporting the occurrence of side-effects following vaccination. Within a simulated Internet forum, we study the influence of the following factors: number of narratives, narrative richness and emotionality, narrative presentation format (i.e. sequentially or aggregated); sample size of statistical and narrative information; and the influence of affect at the time of judgment. Dependent variables are a number of measures assessing subjective probability and severity of vaccine adverse events.
